How we started...

From spoil tip to fruit orchards…

Sirhowy Hill Woodlands was once an Ancient Woodland, thriving with a wealth of fauna and flora and home to a vast community of wildlife.

As with most Welsh towns & villages, our once blessed woodlands became the spoil tip for Ironmasters, changing the lushous green woodlands in to a bleak landscape that would last centuries and more.

With the determination of the local Tredegar community and afar, we now reclaim these once spoiled landscapes and nurture them back to life.

This is the story of Sirhowy Hill Woodlands…

From spoil tip to fruit orchards...
