The active inclusion team were at work again in the woodlands, this time in the heritage orchard, planting replacement trees in the spaces where we lost trees. They just didn’t thrive, so we have bought bigger models, given them mychorizal fungi and a large hole with a good mix of compost, well-rotted manure and top soil.
The planting event appeared briefly in the background of a BBC interview with the chief executive of groundwork last Friday. Thank you, Hywel, Matthew and team.
Replacements were old gauges, damson and apples, so hopefully good crops for everyone in a few years’ time.
We have lots of other things going on as well. Please message or email Susy if you have availability and are interested in volunteering with us at info@sirhowyhillwoodlands.co.uk.
